SlateLog Terms of Service

Last Updated: July 17, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the SlateLog application ("the app"). By downloading or using SlateLog, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

SlateLog is a film production camera logging tool for iPhone. It allows you to create and manage projects, scenes, shots, takes, camera configurations, and rolls. The app stores all data locally on your device.

2. Subscription Tiers

SlateLog offers two tiers of service:

  • Free — Full logging and export features, limited to 2 projects and 2 cameras.
  • Premium — Unlimited projects and cameras. Available as a monthly or annual subscription; current pricing is shown in the app before purchase.

Prices may vary by region. All subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
  • Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
  • Any unused portion of a free trial period (if offered) will be forfeited upon purchasing a subscription.
  • All payments are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

4. Free Tier Limitations

The free tier is limited to 2 projects and 2 cameras. These limitations may change at our discretion. Upgrading to Premium removes these limits.

5. AI Features Disclaimer

AI features use Apple's on-device Foundation Models and are available on supported devices (iPhone 15 Pro or later with iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence enabled). AI-generated content (summaries, suggestions, gap detection, anomaly flagging) is provided as an assistant tool only. You are responsible for verifying all AI output. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content. Do not rely on AI features as the sole record of production data.

6. Your Data

You own all data you create in SlateLog. We do not claim any rights to your projects, production data, notes, reference photos, or exported files. All data is stored locally on your device. We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, iOS updates, or app deletion. We recommend regularly exporting your data as a backup.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or access premium features without a valid subscription
  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app

8. Intellectual Property

SlateLog, its design, code, and branding are the property of Jeff Komarow. The app is licensed, not sold, to you for personal or professional use subject to these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

SlateLog is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, production information, profits, or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jeff Komarow from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the app or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the app at any time, with or without cause. Upon termination, your right to use the app ceases immediately. Data stored locally on your device remains yours.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Apple's Standard EULA

These Terms supplement, and do not replace, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/). In the event of a conflict, Apple's EULA prevails for matters within Apple's scope.
